UCAP Family Check-In

How are you family? We, at the UCAP, hope you’re well in these very uncertain times. We want to take this time to check in with you and to encourage you in your journey. 2020 has been nothing short of overwhelming, having to learn and unlearn and stay expectant for both the good and the bad. It has been far from easy. For many of us, the result of this uneasiness and constant change has led to an imbalance. The sense of equilibrium that we created from the routines that we developed over the years was shaken up for most and for others destroyed all together. What we knew became irrelevant and ignorance became our best friend.

The big plans that we may have had this year got stunted because many of us no longer had the luxury of pursuing those goals – we were propelled into a survival state – doing what we had to ensure: the bag was secured, our loved ones were provided for, and so on. We can also safely say that we now know how being a GPS feels – since we’re still just “re-calculating” our journeys.

Don’t get me wrong, there are those who were excited for this change … those who got even more business and more blessings during this time. However, for those who feel like they’ve been placed in a box, those who have been striped of the freedom of mobility… for the creatives stuck in the 9-5’s forced to choose between their craft and survival or who have chosen both and feel the extreme weight of it all.

This is for you…

We at the UCAP want to take the moment to congratulate you. You’ve made it this far, and that is no small accomplishment. Furthermore, if you’ve made it this far AND maintained your passion, hunger and drive for your craft you are truly blessed.

We urge you to continue to strive for balance in these uncertain times and to be patient with yourself. Remember this is temporary. The one thing about time is that it is constantly passing and you are never the same, every millisecond brings a new you. As we’ve said in the past – use this incubation period wisely, use the isolation to your advantage; but whatever you do, don’t give up.

Better is coming, we are proud of you. Stay blessed!
